I always look to design spaces that are classic and timeless. I’ve never followed trends too closely (who knows, maybe these aren’t even trends!), but here is a list of design elements I’m excited to see more of this coming year, and details that will still stand the test of time!
– ONE –
LIMEWASH AND PLASTER WALLS
Since I can remember, I’ve been drawn to older homes, and the beautiful character they have. Lately I’ve seen some new homes use a limewash finish or plaster for their interior walls, and I love how it gives a bit of that old feel in a new space!

– TWO –
WARMER WARM TONES
The warmer tones are really making a comeback, and I’m totally on board! I’m not talking about a warm greys, I’m talking about deep reds, and oranges mixed with beige. It makes spaces feel so cozy and inviting!

– THREE –
SHERPA AND BOUCLE SEATING
This one may be considered more of a trend. I’ve been pinning quite a few interiors lately with seating that has sherpa or boucle fabric, and also added some pieces to our shop. It gives such a pretty texture, and I imagine it would be a pretty cozy spot to sit!

– FOUR –
SOFTER WHITES
Don’t worry, I still love white walls, just tones that are a bit softer and warmer! Especially when starting to introduce some darker and warmer tones, I find it works better in the space and doesn’t feel so stark.

– FIVE –
NATURAL STONE TILE
I feel like my style has gone a lot more rustic lately, which is maybe why I’ve been loving the look of natural stone tile that is various sizes. It is such a nice casual look of a laundry or mudroom!

– SIX –
DARKER STAINED WOOD
I still like lighter wood tones, but it looks so great too when you mix in some darker stained wood. I feel like it helps to achieve more of a collected look. We have a couple darker pieces on our shop that I am keeping in mind for future projects!
