As I sketched and planned the design for the Annie & Flora storefront, I considered how I wanted our customers to experience the space. I love welcoming guests into our home and wanted the shop to have a similar feel. A place that would be inviting, relaxed and hospitable. This thought inspired the concept of the Market Cafe - a space where visitors can enjoy a complimentary drink and snack as they explore the newest collection.
We were able to carve out a small room in the back to house the cafe. (Every square inch of the shop is so important, and when the cafe is not open it makes for the prettiest room to package your orders!) So much of my design is inspired by European architecture and I knew I wanted something that would make this space feel extra special. When I came across this vintage landscape wall mural by Belarte Studio I knew it would be the perfect addition. I love that as you wander through the store, the Cafe is a hidden surprise around the corner.
