Our Garden Shed Reveal

Throughout the summer, we’ve been working through some projects in our backyard to get it a little closer to our end goal, (which includes various seating areas and lots of lavender and hydrangea bushes!) However, before we can start adding in gardens and picking out furniture we’ve got some items to check off the list, including our garden shed. Since moving in, I had planned to repaint it, but was excited to work with the symmetrical shape and flower boxes.

Here’s what we started with. Before we could start with a fresh coat of paint, Steve did some repairs, rebuilt the flower boxes and took the angles off the door.

I love how much of a difference a fresh coat of paint can make, and how you can transform a space in a day! When we were in the planning process and looking through hundreds of paint chips, I was really drawn to the soft whites. I loved the idea of it matching our house and also brightening up the yard. However, it was important that it would be able to hold up throughout the seasons and daily wear and tear. Canadian Tire’s line of Premier Paint are not only really durable but are also washable and stain resistant which made me feel totally comfortable with the lighter colours!

The main colour on the shed, we went with Arctic White (PR16Y09). I love how its a really true white with no undertones! For the door, we chose Soft Sage (PR16T29) and Dusk (PR16V32) which is a bit darker for the flower boxes.

We also updated the light with this one from Canadian Tire which is under $35!

It feels so good to have this checked off our list, and know it will hold up to life with our family of 5!
