Styling our Christmas tree every year is one of my favourite ways to decorate our home for Holidays. I love when a tree is well styled without feeling too formal. After studying a bunch of different combinations, I’ve laid out my favourite elements to include for a casual and laid back feel.

Tying ribbon into bows on various branches of your tree adds a really beautiful detail and extra layer on top of the ornaments. I love that this is a fairly simple and inexpensive way to change the look of your tree from year to year.
PRO TIP: USE A COMBINATION OF TWO TYPES OF RIBBON FOR EXTRA VARIATION

I’m a huge fan of a woven tree collar over a tree skirt. I love that it fills a bit of the gap between the bottom branches and the floor. Also, the woven detail is a really pretty layer to add to the overall tree.

Adding some natural tones is key to getting a more relaxed and casual feel. One of my favourite ways to do this is by incorporating a wood bead garland. The long strands also add some pretty visual interest throughout the tree.

The ornaments are what mostly fill up the tree, and can really change the overall feel. My best tips to keep in mind when picking out your ornaments is to go with similar tones (I love neutrals!), mixing a variety of shapes and sizes, and keeping away from anything that is too glittery.
