I’m so excited to finally be sharing the first room from our main floor reno. We started demo last January, and completely redid every room except for our front living room. (We had made over that room a few years earlier for the ORC. You can see it here!) With some delays and after waiting on some products we were finally ready to photograph it at the end of 2021. To be honest, I didn’t mind waiting a bit longer for some of the pieces I had originally picked out. We had waited 5 years to do this reno, and a few more months to get the products we loved really didn’t bother me! the Before Here is how the… Read more »

Kingston Remodel
There’s two things we love when designing a home – a blank slate, and a good view. Our Kingston clients gave us both with their new home, and we were pretty excited to take on the project! The existing home had a choppy layout, but was a really great size and was located right on the water. the WISHLIST Our client’s wishlist wasn’t huge, but did have a few specific requests: – Maximize the water view – Incorporate existing sectional – Main floor play room – Main floor master bedroom and ensuite – Main floor powder room off of the back deck – 3 bedrooms and one bath upstairs the PLANS With the water view, it just… Read more »
Our Family Room Plans
Besides the changes we had planned in the mudroom, reworking this space to make it more functional was at the top of my list. The existing layout included a 5′ doorway from the entry which made the room feel really small and awkward to set up. It was a terrible use of the space, and I always talked about closing in the opening so we could fit a large sectional that would hold our whole family. The change was so simple, but would be so impactful! the Befores Here are the realtor images from when we bought the home. You can see the doorway into the foyer, and then also the built in cabinet that bumped out quite a bit…. Read more »
Our Christmas Tree Guide
Styling our Christmas tree every year is one of my favourite ways to decorate our home for Holidays. I love when a tree is well styled without feeling too formal. After studying a bunch of different combinations, I’ve laid out my favourite elements to include for a casual and laid back feel. 1/ R I B B O N Tying ribbon into bows on various branches of your tree adds a really beautiful detail and extra layer on top of the ornaments. I love that this is a fairly simple and inexpensive way to change the look of your tree from year to year. PRO TIP: USE A COMBINATION OF TWO TYPES OF RIBBON FOR EXTRA VARIATION G E… Read more »
Our Mudroom Plans
If you have young kids, I’m sure you know just how great a mudroom is! Our previous floor plan did not have a proper mudroom, so there were always coats and shoes filling the small back hall that led into the basement. When I was reworking the layout, I was looking to include an official mudroom where the kids could come in from outside to drop off their things. As nice as the home office was, we found ourself working more in our living room or at the kitchen table when home, so it was a no brainer to rework that space! (If you missed our kitchen plans you can see them here!) the Befores Here are the realtor images… Read more »
